  1. Your information is faulty. Exactly which type of 'blood cancer' are you referring to? Exactly which drug was used and why was it used instead of first line treatment protocol?
  2. B vitamins & Folic acid might help.
  3. This sounds very much like one of the myelodysplastic syndromes. We have had a few patients respond well to some of the newer treatments (revlamid-(lenalidomide)) when bone marrow transplant has not been an option. Unfortunately, peripheral neuropathy can be severe and disabling. Like Tim Br said, Bvitamins and folic acid can help, but your friend should consult a neurologist, and ask about some other medications, too. I think neurontin is used sometimes, but I'm not sure. Best of luck to your friend. I am glad he has friends helping him out. MM
  4. There is a drug called Lyrica that treats neuropathy. I don't know what drugs he can take with his condition, but ask his doctor about Lyrica. I have a form of Neuropathy and I take Lyrica. It has helped me a lot. A drug called Neurontin is also used to treat neuropathy, as well as some anti-depressants.
