Body Talk or Touch For Health.......preference?

If you are a practitioner or a client who has experience with these, how do they differ most, and what is your preference? Which is most linked to Chinese Medicine? (I'm leaning more towards Five Element Theory, which I think Touch for Health is more linked to this than Body Talk. Right?) I'm wanting to help geriatrics and cancer patients. Which modality do you feel would most benefit these two groups of clients? Thank you for your answers!

  1. I am a level 4 practitioner for Touch For Health. I have also had Body Talk Treatments done on me. I think that Touch For Health is more in-depth and more related to Chinese medicine since a practitioner needs to study in-depth the meridian lines, the neurovascular points and the lymphatic system. It also incorporates the 5 elements, and the various connections. Body Talk is very similar - but more simplified. However, to help Geriatrics and Cancer patients, I would recommend learning "Therapeutic Touch" instead. Its very gentle and does not require the patient to be in any particular position (unlike Body Talk and Touch for Health) Also you don't even need to touch the person for it to be successful. This is really important as many people with Cancer, or geriatrics will be in a lot of pain constantly. Sometimes touching them will cause more pain instead of relieving it. So with Therapeutic Touch you are taught a variety of options both for touching and non-touching. It is also becoming more recognized in the field, which will help you acquire clients. I hope that helps. :)
